Common throughout North America, Brown-headed Cowbirds (Molothrus ater) are famous for their unusual obligate brood parasite breeding strategy. Females do not construct their own nests or incubate their own clutch; instead, they lay their eggs in the nests of over 200 other songbird species, relying on foster parents to raise their offspring. Their eggs are typically white to grayish-white, heavily marked with dark brown or reddish speckles and blotches.
Modeled to 21.5 mm × 16.5 mm at true 1:1 scale using reference dimensions obtained online and observing specimen dimensions, this digital model captures the geometry and smooth contours of a natural cowbird egg.
