Small, energetic, and highly vocal, House Wrens (Troglodytes aedon) are common backyard songbirds found across the Americas. Known for nesting in nest boxes, tree cavities, and unusual man-made crevices, these tiny birds lay remarkably large clutches of 5 to 8 eggs. Their small eggs feature a white or pinkish-white background so densely covered with fine reddish-brown speckles that they often appear uniformly reddish or tan.
