Lincoln Savi painting a Yellow Toad model

Lincoln Savi

Owner/Operator

Lincoln Savi is a biologist, teacher, and artist from Windsor, Ontario. He blends science and creativity to inspire curiosity about the natural world. As the founder of Savi Made, he designs and creates highly detailed, lifelike 3D-printed animal models for research, education, and conservation. Organizations like The Toronto Zoo, The Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry rely on Lincoln’s work to educate the public about native and invasive species. Meanwhile, researchers across the globe use his lifelike animal models to study animal behaviour, from mating rituals to predatory responses.

With a Master of Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor, Lincoln teaches biology and chemistry at the secondary school level. He has also assisted in teaching university anatomy labs. His fieldwork spans Costa Rica, the Canadian Arctic, and beyond, where he studied bird vocalizations and animal behaviour.

Lincoln’s innovative 3D-printed models, such as the RoboToad, provide researchers with purpose-built, realistic tools for studying wildlife. In fact, Several peer-reviewed scientific publications over the past five years feature Lincoln’s work. By combining his scientific expertise, teaching experience, and artistic talent, Lincoln aims to advance research and education, while fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Lincoln started 3D-printing in 2017 when he bought his first 3D printer with his winnings from an NSERC video contest. After tinkering with the machine for a few months and learning its abilities and limitations, he decided to combine his love for animals with this new technology and he attempted to create a realistic Yellow Toad model. The resulting model was good enough that it snowballed into the business that you see before you today. The Savi Made logo now honours the Yellow Toad by featuring a bright yellow male standing proudly over the text.
