One of North America’s most recognizable songbirds, American Robins (Turdus migratorius) are famously heralded as heralds of spring. Their nests, constructed from mud, twigs, and dry grass, hold one of the most iconic clutches in the avian world. Famous for their vibrant, unmarked “robin’s egg blue” color, the distinctive pigment comes from biliverdin deposited on the eggshell during formation, which serves as a natural indicator of egg health and quality.
Modeled to 29.0 mm × 21.0 mm at true 1:1 scale using average dimensions obtained online, this digital model accurately captures the smooth geometry and classic contours of a natural American Robin egg.
