Description

This is a 3D-printable model of a Strawberry Poison Dart Frog (Oophaga pumilio).

Strawberry Poison Dart Frogs are a neotropical frog species that live throughout much of Central America. There are many different colour morphs of Oophaga pumilio so this model has a lot of re-usability. You could print and paint an entire collection of the different colour morphs! However, the most common morph is known as “blue jeans” with a red body, blue legs, and black speckles over the red giving the frog a strawberry-with-seeds appearance.

The 3D printable, digital file is in STL format. It is scaled to life-size and ready for you to print and paint it.

This Strawberry Poison Dart Frog model is about 20mm long from snout to vent, which is within the size range for adults of this species.

Our tested print settings

We successfully printed this model using a resin-based 3D-printer.

This 3D-printable .stl file is best printed using a resin-based 3D printer due to its tiny size. The fingers and toes are especially tiny and would prove difficult to print on an FDM-style filament printer. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could probably print it on an FDM printer if you printed the model much larger than real-life size.
